Girlie Hairbands

I made these a few weeks ago.

Another Quilt

I have made about 3 of these little Noah's Arc Quilts. I found the fabric on clearance and really liked it. I have just been creating these in myf ree time. I tried to machine quilt my first ones, but I wasn't so good at that. I perfer the look of the yarn.

Baby Girl's Quilt

I love the fabric for this quilt. It reminds me of what Rose looked like when she was young, so maybe it is what Baby Girl will look like.

Rag Quilts

I am loving making these rag quilts! They are so fun! I got a great deal on flannel at Joanns, so I stocked up! It was such a fun little adventure. The first quilt is for Garett's Grandma for Christmas. The second quilt (baby quilt) is for Baby Girl! Her nursery is an alphabet themed so the ABC fabric should be perfect! For the baby quilt I used 6 yards of flannel total.

Ruffle Butts

I am working on putting ruffles on the bottoms of baby onesies. I bought a lot of onesies this weekend that were on sell. I hope I can put the ruffles on them and make some money at the farmer's market. I tried three different ways. The first one I made big ruffles. The second one (my favorite) I made 3 smaller ruffles. The final one I used pinking shears and made three rows but let it fray.

Big Sister

My old boss, Steven and his wife just had a baby girl! I made some things for the baby, but figured her big sister needed a gift too! I made her a crayon roll and this tshirt!

Tie Shirt

Garett's good friend Adam and his wife, Amber had a baby boy yesterday. I made this little tie onsie to put in their package. I think I might try and make baby things to try and sell at farmer's markets next year. This is something I think I will make and sell. They are pretty easy.

Mrs. Mez teacher bag

I made myself a nice new teacher bag. I did this like the diaper bag, but forgot to put in the interfacing. I haven't decided yet if I like it better with or without the interfacing.

BABY HATS

I got this idea from another blogger. I made these SUPER easy baby hats from some old shirts. The cotton material allows for some extra stretch space!

Baby Care Roll

I made this just like the crayon roll. Inside are a little brush, nail clippers, and comb.

Diaper Bag

I got this pattern today on clearance at Joann. It came with the material outlined so all I had to do was cut it out. I kept the measurements though and am planning on making some of my own bags. This one was a little small so I might make the next ones a little larger.

The best part is it is reversible!

Diaper Keeper

I made this today for Rose. It is a handy pocket to put diapers and wipes in. The measurements I got from the internet were much too small. I made this one 12X21 1/2 inches. I think I might still play around ith a few different sizes to see what works best. I used a little snap that keeps it closed, but might also try the pockets I have made before with a tape measure that acts as a snap.

Auntie hearts me!

I am so excited for little Baby Carl/Sid to get here! I have spent the day making things for this little baby! This says it all. I love this baby so much already and the baby isn't even here yet! These next 6 months better hurry by! I can't wait to meet my new niece or nephew.

Bibs

These are some baby bibs I have made out of left overs. They are great for using up leftover materials. I like the plaid one, it reminds me of Brian and his plaid shirts. It will be perfect for baby Carl....(as long as Carl is a boy!)

Baby Quilt

This is the little Noah's quilt I made. The back is the cuddle material that is so soft! Still learning to quilt, so I found a new trick or two along the way.

Baby Changing Pad

I am so excited to have a baby niece or nephew on the way! I have been busy making baby stuff!. I made this cute little changing pad today. I made it similar to the crayon rolls, but larger and without the pockets. It was super easy and fun. It will roll up to fit in a diaper bag and can be pulled out to save the baby from being put on icky changing tables :)

Shorts

I have been able to make lots of shorts this summer. They are the best cool pjs. Here are some I made for Austin.

Crayon Rolls

Girl Crayon Roll

Car Crayon Roll

These are some easy crayon rolls I made. I found the idea on the internet and then copied it to make a pencil roll and a marker roll. Here is how I did it.

Pencil Roll

Marker Roll

Crayon Roll

2 pieces of same fabric for outside and inside – 5″ x 16 1/2″
1 piece of coordinating fabric for pocket – 6″ x 16 1/2″
1 piece of flannel for lining – 5″ x 16 1/2″
1 coordinating hair elastic
1 button
needle and thread
1 box of 16 crayons
disappearing ink fabric marker

Pencil Roll
2 pieces of same fabric for outside and inside – 8″ x 12 1/2″
1 pece of coordinating fabric for pocket – 8″ x 7″
1 piece of flannel for lining – 8″ x 121/2″1 coordinating
hair elastic
1 button
needle and thread
1 box of 12 colored pencils
disappearing ink fabric marker

Marker Roll
2 pieces of same fabric for outside and inside – 7″ x 12 1/2″
1 piece of coordinating fabric for pocket – 7″ x 12″
1 piece of flannel for lining – 7″ x 12 1/2″1 coordinating
hair elastic
1 button
needle and thread
1 box of 8 Colored Markers
disappearing ink fabric marker

First, cut out all four pieces of fabric. Fold the fabric in half length ways and iron flat. Next, lay out the flannel piece (this is the lining and gives the roll a little more strenght so it does not did not match the other fabric. Then lay one of the pieces of faric on top of the flannel wrong side down. Then, place the pocket piece on top of that. Make sure all the edges line up. Pin at the ends. Find the midpoint of the pocket at 8 1/4″ (for the crayon roll). With your fabric marker and a straight edge, mark the middle line.then make a line every inch, until all 15 lines have been drawn. The spaces on the ends will be a little wider than inch to allow fro seam allowance. Now stitch down the pocket. On the right side, stitch the elastic onto the roll. Now add the other piece of fabric. The right sides of the fabric should be facing in. Sew together with a 1/4 inch seam. Leave about a 2 inch hole on the short end opposite of the elastic. Flip the roll back to right side out. I then ironed the rolls flat and sewed aroudn the edges. This sewed shut the whole without having to do it by hand. Put in the crayons in and roll up the roll and see where the button should be placed.

Our Wedding

Wow! It makes me sad that I haven't blogged for over a year! So much has happened in the last year. Garett and I got engaged in September and married in March! Looking back at it I wish I would have blogged during this fun time. Planning the wedding was a blast and I loved everything about the wedding. I wish I would have kept a record of everything and the process of the planning and preparing. It was such a magical day.
