Pajama Pants

These are so much fun to make. I have mastered pockets now, so my new pjs have those as an added bonus.

Garett's shirts

Garett is the best man in his friends wedding this fall. For the rehearsal dinner he got all the boys fake tux shirts. I added the boys' names to the back. This was harder than I thought It would be. I cut out the letters and then added heat bond to them. Next, I ironed them onto the t-shirts and then stitched around the edges to hold the letters on.

Little wallets

This is another pattern from my Aunt Kathy. These little wallets are so cute and easy. I made one for my mom, Brittany, and myself. I think I am going to enlarge the pattern on my scanner to make larger ones.

Snap Happy

My Aunt Kathy gave me a pattern to make these little guys. I used carpenters measuring tape as the snap. I made different sizes out of some left overs I had. I think I am going to use them as little purses, but also for my make up and some of my sewing items. They are really easy and fun to make.

Stockings

I made 28 of these bad boys. Last year, our school donated stockings at Christmas time to the soldiers. This year, I bought the fabric on sale. I think I got it for $1.50 a yard. I may pick up some more fabric to get a few more done before Christmas.

Austin's quilt

This the quilt I made for Austin. I tried to machine sew it, but that didn't work so well. I ended up using yarn, and it turned out pretty cute. Around the edges I used a stitch on my machine. It worked well because I didn't have to hand sewing it. ( I hate hand sewing)

More baby stuff....

There is a place here in town that takes baby donations. I have been making baby things for them. The baby stuff is just so cute. I have made some receiving blankets. I like these because they are so easy to make and I like trying out the different stitches on my machine.

With the left over fabric from pajama pants I have been making burp clothes. I got this idea from http://homemadebyjill.blogspot.com/2008/01/burp-cloth-tutorial.html. They are also fun and easy to make. They turned out really cute.

Austin's P.J.s

These are the pajamas I made for Austin for his birthday this coming year. Garett picked out the fabric, footballs of course. This was my first time attempting buttons and I am pleased with how they turned out.

Potholders

I got this idea from my Aunt Kathy. I fill these squares with scented rice so once a pot is put on it the scent is released. I like to use fat quarters and can make 2 or 3 from that material. The scent I use is from Wal Mart and is in the candle aisle. These are super easy and make nice gifts.

Pillows

I tried my hand at quilting. I tried to make these like the pillows my Great Grandma Max made. I really enjoyed the quilting part of it and want to try making a quilt. Maybe I will make a baby quilt.

Bags

I found this premade pattern for trick-or-treat bags. I am going to use it as a pattern to continue to make bags for nieces and nephews as they come along. This one is for Austin. It is pretty big so he will get lots of candy :).

The other bag I made is for a my birthday club teacher. Next week is her birthday. We all take

turns for birthdays. I used the trick-or-treat pattern but made it a little larger. I used the same heat bond trick I did for the bib to put her name on it.

Everyone Loves a Snuggie

This year for Christmas I made Garett and his friends snuggies. I got the pattern form Joann. It was a McCalls pattern and super easy. These things are amazing. They even have little feet pockets to keep those toes warm.

Valances

These nice little valances really spruce up my place. I got the material for CHEAP. It was half off the half priced stuff. I love finding good deals. I made one for my bed room window and am working on one for the window in the front room.

Scrubs

For my good friend, Jackie. I made a set of scrubs. This was a learning experience. I did my first set of pockets!

Garett's New Bachelor Pad

Garett just got a new home. It needed some TLC. So, here is the new additions...
New rag quilt

New pillows

And...new curtians!

A new look

This is Austin, Garett's nephew and he loves Mickey. I found this idea from my cousin. All I did was take a plain t-shirt and cut out a tie shape then sewed it on. It was really simple and a hit with Austin!

Baby Bibs

This is the new bibs I made. I got the inspiration from my Great Grandma Max. My mom always said that these were the best bibs because they were super absorbent and the food didn't just slide right off. They are super easy. This is what I did. I took a wash clothe (super cheap) and cut a spot for the neck. Next, I added biased tape. Then this little add on was just a pattern I found online and made it my own. I used 'Heat Bond' to secure it then added a little stitch. I must say, Garett does model it nicely! :)

Hello

I am new to blogging. I have been busy sewing and creating ever since I got my sewing machine. I LOVE my nights of crafting. I want to keep track of my projects. My super smart boy friend gave me the incredible idea of sharing my work with everyone online. So here I go....
